As ecological and economic climate challenges become increasingly more serious, there is a growing need to meet a coming tsunami of opportunity with a trained workforce.

President Biden signed an executive order on January 27, 2021 which established a Civilian Climate Corps initiative. “President Biden has appointed John Kerry as his special presidential envoy for climate, which underscores his commitment for tackling the global crisis of climate change,” says Trout Headwaters, Inc. CEO Michael Sprague. “Serious effects of climate change include bigger storm systems, and consequently, more intense flooding in some areas, with longer droughts and major water shortages in other places. Healthy streams and wetlands and their associated vegetation can help mitigate extremes. We need a climate-ready workforce to tackle these issues.”

How will the new “Civilian Climate Corps” answer these challenges?

The proposed organizations would address climate challenges, pay a livable wage, and provide  education awards for the duration of service.  This is the very definition of a green, sustainable industry and creates pathways to high value employment for all those interested in leaving the planet better than they found it.

What Does that Mean for Jobs In Conservation?

The $10B Ecological Restoration economy is poised for growth and this means more open doors for trained, experienced youth and conservation corps members.  If you want to leave your mark and be a part of the green future you can start today with an industry-recognized training at www.wadersinthewater.com.
